RE: Akwerius releases “Mr. Prezident” video & DVD
Afro Roots Hop proudly presents kwe’s first official video release of “Mr. Prezident”, an open letter to the longest-serving leaders around the world.
The song is particularly timely in light of the upcoming presidential elections in Cameroon, scheduled for October 2011. The video offers a glimpse into the pre- and post-colonialism history of African leadership through the use of archival footage. Directed and produced by kwe, the video is due for release on May 20th, 2011 (National Day of Cameroon) along with a digital download of the tune on Amazon. “Mr. Prezident” was originally released in 2002 on the album Sonrise.
